When she and Yuu were in junior high, she fell for Yuu and convinced him to date her for three months. If at the end of those three months he didn't love her, he could break up with her. For three month, they dated, but Yuu found that the emotions just weren't there. He was fond of her, but Arimi just wasn't the one for him. Even after hearing this, Arimi carries her love for Yuu into their junior year of high school.

When Yuu transfered to Miki's school, he and Arimi lost touch. She found him on his date with Miki at Wonder Dog. Immedaitely she launched a mission to win him from Miki. She even convinces Ginta to pretend they are dating in hopes of making Miki jealous.
