When Meiko's story is published, she travels to Hiroshima to once again try to win his heart. He cruelly rejects her, but later explains that their relationship would only stifle her creativity. He eventually gives into emotion and returns to her. Their marriage ends the anime series.

Namura sensei is a teacher at Toryo High School who is popular with all the students for his lighthearted teaching style. He coaches the tennis club with Ryoko sensei. He spends time in the library reading and has fallen in love with Meiko over the years that she has been at Toryo. Their relationship is found out and he flees the situation by breaking up with her and returning home to go into business with his father. To deter Meiko's affection, he lies and tells her that he is now dating Ryoko.
