Rokutanda always managed to appear wherever Arimi is. His unlucky nature with women is quite funny. On New Year’s Day, he meets a shy, young girl who has been separated from her friends at a festival. He helps Takase Yayoi find her friends, but is so excited about meeting a beautiful girl that he forgets to ask her name or any other information that would be useful in locating her. The others find his bad luck quite humorous, but the two do cross paths again.

Rokutanda Tsutomu is an obnoxious, yet humorous character who has loved Arimi since they were children. He goes to the same school as her and is one of the leading tennis players. He is also Ginta’s cousin and rival. The two contantly bicker and argue over petty things. Arimi doesn’t return Rokutanda’s feelings and he is often crying over her. His competitive nature is a thorn in everyone’s side and is often betting over such things as tennis matches. Rokutanda often makes bets where the loser has to "shave his head like a monk." Needless to say, his head is shaved throughout the show.
