He becomes interested in Yuu when he see's him reading an architecture book written by his father. Yuu misinterprets his advances and thinks he's gay. Miwa discovers that his father had had a relationship with Yuu's mother and thinks that he is his brother. Miwa and Yuu confront Miwa's father, but his denies the possibility that he is Yuu's father.
Miwa becomes Yuu's best friend and is told all of Yuu's problems.
Altnough he is very flirtatious, Miwa falls in love with Meiko and pursues her when she and Namura break up. He stands by her side and wants her to be happy. When he realizes he is not the one to make her happy, he helps her find her happiness.
