Marmalade Boy Episode 1

They're In Love, He's Handsome, but I Can't Fogive Them!

The episode starts with the main character, Miki, writing in an 
exchange diary to her best friend, Meiko.  An exchange diary is a 
diary that you write in for you friend to read and then they write 
back to you.  Miki and Meiko also have a voice message toy with 
theirs.

Miki's parents call her down for some cake and tea and then tell her
they are getting a divorce!  Miki is shocked, especially because they 
look so calm and cheerful about it.  Then they go on to tell her that 
they met another couple in Hawaii who they plan to exchange partners
with, named the Matsuras.  Miki is outraged and demands they change 
things back to normal.  Her parents tell her they will not because
they feel something with the Matsura's that they have not felt for a 
long time.

At school the next day Meiko and Miki are talking about Miki's situ-
ation.  Meiko tells Miki that Miki's parents are better than hers.  
Here we find out that Meiko's parents do not love eachother, and are 
only staying together for financial benefit.

Next we meet Ginta, Miki's Tennis CLub team mate and friend.  She 
tells him that she can not go to practice today because of a family
problem.  She runs off to meet the Matsura's for dinner.  On her way 
she stops and yells "I am determined to put a stop to it!!" and 
everyone looks at her.

At a nice restaraunt, Miki is introduced to Chiyako and Youji Matsura.
She also meets Matsura Yuu and is breath-taken by his good looks.  But 
she remembers her objective to tell the four adults how she feels.  
She tells them straight off that she is opposed to their plan and 
tries to remind them to think of her and Yuu's feelings.  But Yuu says
he doesn't care, as long as the people involved are happy.  Miki's 
mom tells her she seems to be the only one opposed, and Miki starts
crying.  She tells them that even though her parents aren't perfect, 
they are still her parents and she can't be separated from them.

Then they all tell her not to worry because they are getting a big
house so all six of them can live together!  They assure her that she
will keep her last name and that the relationship between parent and 
child will remain the same.  But then they notice she is not at all
amused.  She still is strongly opposed to their plan.  But she notices
they all look sad so she tells them she understands and they celebrate.

Yuu and Miki go shopping the day they move in together and Yuu shows
Miki how childish he can be ^__^  At school the next day Miki thinks
she is free for a while from her "Strange Family" when Yuu shows up 
and hits her on the head.  He tells her that he has transferred to her
school.  Miki is not at all pleased.  She leaves with Ginta to play
some tennis and Yuu asks Meiko about Miki and Ginta's relationship.
Meiko tells him that Miki confessed her feelings to Ginta in middle
school, but Ginta rejected her.  Now, however, they are good friends. 
Miki also realizes just how popular Yuu is with the girls at school!

In gym class Miki gets hit in the face while admiring Yuu.  She is 
taken to the infirmaray.  Yuu comes in to check on her and she pre-
tends to be asleep.  He stands there and looks at her for a while.
["Moment" is playing] and then he leans over and kisses her.  She 
doesn't move, and after he is gone she jumps up and covers her mouth.
"Now what is he up to???"
