Marmalade Boy Episode 5 Koibito no densetsu Mesaiyu ni omoi wo komete Legendary Girlfriend, Making a wish on the medallion After avoiding Ginta for a day, he meets Miki outside her house and tries to confess his feelings for her. He demands to know if Yuu is better than him. He roughly grabs her by the arm and she is scared. Before he can kiss her again, Yuu breaks in between them. Miki takes the chance to flee the situation and escapes into the house. Yuu tells him that he should have had been able to share his feelings while his friends were around. Ginta begins to make a scene when he finds out that Yuu lives in the same house as Miki. Ginta is enraged, but Yuu calmly tells him that Miki will probably talk to him when the time is right. He yells and obviously cannot control his emotions (especially anger.) The next day at school she confesses her confusion to Meiko. Meiko tells her to ask Ginta for more time to decide how she feels. In the crowded classroom, she approaches him and appears to be asking for more time to make up her mind. We can only hear the conversations of her class mates. She explains that he has confused her and asks for more time. He agrees to wait for her decision. Meiko and Miki walk home after school and she begins to think about who she like the best. Meiko simply asks who's kiss did she like the best? They stop to talk outside the Junk Jungle and run into Yuu. He is working at this store to earn money and invites them in. [Eyecatch] Yuu's boss is a man in his twenties, dressed as a rebel. He asks if these two are more of Yuu's fans. They try on clothes while Yuu prepares coffee for his guests. While talking, Yuu pulls out his school medallion. Miki then explains the legend behind the medallions. If you place a picture of the person you love in your medallion, then exchange them at graduation, they will fall in love. His boss also graduated from Toryo. A girl who admired him was too shy to tell him her feelings. Before he moved to New York, she slipped her medallion into his bag to show that she cared. She was too shy to ever tell her name and he didn't know who she was. She remained faithful to her love. Ten years later she was working in New York as a tour guide. He ran into her and showed her that he had been carrying her medallion around for ten years. Meiko and Miki are impressed with the story and discover by a picture hanging on the wall that he was the young man in the story. Miki wonders who's picture should be in her medallion. At tennis practice she begins to think of his good qualities. Ginta's partner broke his arm and cannot play in the tournaments. Miki tells Na-chan that Yuu should be Ginta's partner. As they begin to play, everyone notices Yuu's terrific form and talent. He easily beats Na-chan. Ginta swallows his pride and asks Yuu to be his partner, but he only agrees after Miki's asks him to. Ginta tells him that he doesn't really want him for a partner, but this is the only way his can play. He has an opponent that he really wants to defeat. While they are talking, he stares at Miki causing her to flee. He is upset because she said that she wanted to be friends and wouldn't at this way. Later, Yuu is at the library searching the books when he hears Meiko's voice. She is obviously meeting her lover. Soon we hear Namura-sensei's voice and Yuu sees them kiss in the stacks. [Moment plays in the background as they kiss]
