Marmalade Boy Episode 11 Birthday Yuu ga watashi wo mitsumeteru BIrthday Yuu is watching me Yuu remarks she must be back to normal if she can slap him. She calls to him as he leaves the room. She closes her exchange diary and is still mortified about her experience. Yuu comes down to breakfast as if nothing has happened. She is quiet and he says he will make her breakfast. Suddenly the phone rings. Chiyako is on the phone to wish Yuu a happy birthday. He is suprised she remembered and Miki is angry because he didn't tell her. He thinks birthdays are no big deal while Miki wants to celebrate his birthday. He agrees to let her do whatever as long as it makes her happy. She goes shopping to by already prepared food and a cake, but sees a section with items to make your own cake. Surely this is something she can do if she uses a mix. She imagines a perfect cake and Yuu complimenting her efforts. Arimi is hiding around the corner from Junk Jungle. While she cannot give him a present, she can wish him a happy birthday. She gathers courage, turns the corner, and finds that Yuu is not there. Kijima tells her that he has taken time off to be with Miki while their parents are on vacation. She realizes that they have been alone since they left. Immediately, she calls Ginta to tell him the news. Back home, Miki pieces together a perfect meal. She takes her cake out of the oven, but it falls. She follow the directions, but did not read the line to wait a few minutes before removing it from the oven. She decides the frosting will cover any mistakes. After completing the decoration for the cake, she intercepts Yuu from coming in the kitchen and ruining her surprise. He takes some of the frosting off her face and leaves. Miki sets a formal table and tells Yuu to come down in 10 minutes. She hurries to get dressed, puts on makeup, dabs the perfume on for the first time, and wonders if he will notice her new look. He walks downstairs to a darkened room, and a formal table. Realizing he doesn't fit the mood, he is happy with her efforts. They both look so happy in the candlelight. He thoughfully studies her face and she blushes. He walks over, takes her hands, and leans in as if to kiss her. [Eyecatch] Suddenly the doorbell rings and breaks the mood. Arimi and Ginta arrived to wish Yuu a happy birthday while on their date. Yuu invites them in and that is the end of the intimate dinner party. They discover that they are all alone in the house and Arimi and Ginta are shocked. They insist that they have done nothing, but Miki's blush enrages Ginta. Evidentally Arimi didn't tell him of the situation. He grabs Yuu and pushes him against the wall, but his mood is broken when Yuu demands to know just what he thinks they have been doing. Arimi does her best to make Miki jealous but lying about what a great day they have had. The doorbell rings and Rokutanda is at the door (trailing Arimi again.) Now the intimate evening has turned into a party of 5. He is upset because no one invited him to the party. Everyone is impressed with Miki's efforts, but Rokutanda points out the lopsided cake. They all toast Yuu on his birthday and for once the group is content. Everyone helps clean up. Rokutanda finally realizes the living arrangment and asks if they are shaking up only to receive to blows to the head from Arimi and Ginta. No one wants to explain the situation and he whines because no one will tell them. The cousins begin to fight again. Miki breaks up the argument by saying they should play cards. She goes to her room to find the cards and Ginta follows her. She blushes to have him in her room and pushes him out into the hall. [Moment plays as he asks her if Yuu has been in her room.] He asks her what perfume she is wearing. He demands to be let into her room. She tells him he should be going to Arimi's room. Ginta then tells her that their relationship is fake. He would break it all off if she would tell him to. If she cannot do that then he will give up on Miki and go out with Arimi.
