Marmalade Boy Episode 12 Smash! Yuu to Ginta docchi mo suki Smash! Yuu and Ginta I love them both Miki is writing in her exchange diary that her parents are coming back tomorrow. She remembers Ginta's ultimatum. At school Miki sneaks into the classroom afraid to meet Ginta. Ginta is also worried about her answer. Miki runs down the hall and dashes past Yuu and Meiko. Later at lunch, she tells Meiko everything about what Ginta said to her. Miki is paged to go to Ryoko-sensei's office. She wants Miki to be in a challenge match as this will the first one for the ladies' team. Her thinking is cloudy because of what Ginta said and she feels like she is going to panic. On the way to practice, Ginta demands her answer. She asks for him to wait until after the match. He tells her that he understands. At home Miki is making coffee, but her mind wanders and she overpoars the cup. Yuu teases her for not being able to make coffee, too, but notices that she seems depressed. He asks if something is bother her. She insists that nothing is wrong, but her body language betrays her. Before she can say anything, the parents burst in the door. They rush the kids into the living room to tell them about the trip. Yuu and Miki are obviously no interested in the romantic tales of the trip and retire to their rooms. Yuu suggests that she goes and spend the night with Meiko. At Meiko's house, the girls are in her rooms. They are able to talk and Miki tells her about the situation. Meiko tells her that it seems that she is just running away from Ginta. Prolonging the answer will only hurt Ginta. Meiko wipes away her tears and the two friends fall asleep together. [Eyecatch] The next day at school, Miki seems better until she runs into Ginta in the hallway. He pushes her against the wall and Meiko yells at him for being so rough. He tells Miki that he will not let her lose. He wants to help her prepare for her match. Nemura-sensei and Ryoko-sensei watch the two play a morning game and remark that it is good to see them practicing so early in the morning. At home Miki is watching a match on TV. Yuu tells her that she is making herself tense. He whisks her away to go shopping for a new tennis outfit to get her mind off the match. They have a fun day out on the town. He takes her to try on jewelry and with each new store his load of packages grows. She reaches out for his arm while they walk. At the match, a large crowd has gathered to watch. Ginta, Yuu, and Meiko are there. Rokutanda appears and tells Ginta that his girl is going to win because he gave her special training. He turns everything into a competition and the cousins fight again. Some of the girls from the opposing school notice Yuu and crowd around him. This is not good for Miki's concentration. Ginta tells her to go for it. Rokutanda tells her if she loses then she will have to shave her head. Arimi discovers that Yuu is there and runs to join them. This excited Rokutanda and the distractions hinder Miki. She then decides that he should be with Arimi and not her. She is able to erase her mind of everything and win the match for her friends. She will give Ginta her answer afterwards. Rokutanda has to shave his head again. After the game, Miki, Meiko, Ginta, Yuu, and Arimi are walking down the street. Rokutanda follows them, and Miki is not able to give Ginta her answer as Arimi drags him away. [Moment plays as she is literally in the middle of the street being emotionally pulled between the two men each on the other side of the street.]
