Marmalade Boy Episode 19: Disturbed by the Family Register: "Don't Say It's Ridiculous!" Miki studies for her final exam, and takes a break for a family dinner. [Title] Miki sits down for dinner, minus the fathers. Yuu teases Miki about her studying, and she reiterates. They discuss the next day's plans, and the mothers reveal that the six-month waiting period is over, and they were going to get remarried the next day, after which would be a celebratory Italian dinner. The next day, all four parents fill out the marriage forms and sign them, sealing the new marriages. Yuu looks at Miki, concerned. They all head for the restaraunt, but Miki backs out at the last minute, saying that she had something else to do. She leaves the family and walks on her own. Miki walks and sees a young child being spoiled by her parents and thinks of when her parents spoiled her. Her wanderings take her to a park where she watches the children play, and she thinks of her parents playing with her on a merry-go-round. She sits on a bench until the sun begins to set. A voice calls from behind her: "How long are you going to be like this?" [Song: Moment] Miki looks up at Yuu in surprise, and he says that he's been following her since she left the group. He sits next to her, and claims that she still hasn't gotten over the partner exchange. Miki reveals that what's really bothering her is that she was scared that her mother was going to become a stranger. Yuu simply sits with her, saying nothing. Miki looks at him, and smiles secretly. [Eyecatch] The sun has gone down completely, and Miki and Yuu are at a burger joint. Yuu complains that he would much rather have had the Italian dinner, giving Miki a hard time. She knows that he's kidding, however, and smiles at him. When they return home, the parents rush out, welcoming Miki back home. She smiles at them. In her room, Miki takes out the medallion picture of her and her parents and puts in a picture of Yuu, thinking of him and blushing. The next morning, Furutachi videotapes the parents and kids leaving the house in order to get the scoop on the Matsuuras and Koishikawas living together. The tape appears on the Lunchtime News, and Miki and Yuu are called into the principal's office. Several girls in Miki's class yell at Furutachi for getting Yuu and Miki into trouble. The principal asks Miki why the two kept the partner exchange a secret. Miki replies to the accusing vice principal, Kyoko, that she asked Namura (the only teacher who knew) to keep it a secret, because she thought that the situation was lunatic. She then reveals that she knows that their parents were serious about their feelings. Yuu counters Kyoko that teachers should not be involved in personal matters of the students. Furutachi enters, along with the parents, and apologizes to Miki and Yuu. The principal asks Miki's father and mother to step forward, and all four parents answer. He asks Yuu's father and mother to identify themselves, and all four parents are identified. The parents (who were all pulled directly out of their jobs) claim that the marriage was entirely their own selfishness, and the principal laughs, telling Yuu and Miki that they have wonderful parents. When leaving, Yuu sees an upperclassman (whom he remembers from the library) standing there. Miki asks when Yuu got to know the student body president, and Yuu is shocked. Miki identifies him as Miwa, and Yuu grabs her shoulders. "Did you say his name was Miwa?" he demands, and runs after him, and when he catches up, asks if the offer about reading his architecture books was still valid. Miwa simply nods.
